Dear Diary: Edits n’ Stuff

I’ve been busier than usual with my 9 to 5. And was out of town over the weekend on a business trip. So naturally, productivity has taken a hit. But fear not, I’m still slaving away editing and updating various aspects of the website. I went back in and updated several pieces of Merc Rule artwork. I’m also retroactively working on getting ’em all aligned to be in chronological order. It’s a work in progress, but several have already been adjusted to reflect that change. In the coming weeks, they’ll only continue to get more organized.

I’ve updated the short Recalculating. The original was a lean 900 words or so. The current version is much beefier weighing in closer to 1500.

I was planning on phasing out Flapjack Friday, but Alex is gonna potentially continue writing at a rate that will justify keeping it alive. If he decides not to, then I may end up posting Merc Rules on Wednesday and Friday until further notice. The Flapjack category is also going to be renamed the Broken Atlas and serve as a hub for our multi-universe stories.

On the topic of my novel, I’ve decided I’m going to create a progress bar for the various drafts, so that folks can watch my… well… progress. This will likely entail several phases. For example: Outline, Rough Draft, Beta Revision, Final Draft, and Publication. It always helps to have a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel. And it’s also a way to help keep me accountable to all the excited readers out there anxiously awaiting my first novel.

Hopefully, I’ll get the progress bar artwork up over the weekend, and with a little luck, maybe even the Broken Atlas artwork and category revision. As always, there’s more to do than there is time to do it in. But that’s life.

Until next time…

Go forth and conquer,

J. D.
